Therapy & standing
Standing systems and walking aids are of vital importance for the development of many children and to help them take part in life. Because standing, even with support, is extremely important for physical and social reasons – especially during development up to the age of 18 months: Only standing in a timely manner allows the hip to develop properly and prevents subsequent orthopaedic problems.
Children who do not learn to stand independently can get ahead with medical devices from Ottobock. We have developed standing systems tailored to the varying abilities of these children, depending on age and stage of development: standers, standing frames and prone/supine standers. In keeping with the principle: as much activity as possible and as much support as necessary, our standing systems promote the child's physical and mental development.
This also helps the child interact with its surroundings and play with friends.
When your child is comfortably aligned and supported, standing becomes a positive part of therapy and a great way to be more involved in life and the surroundings. The Leckey Squiggles stander can be used in several ways: as a prone stander, a supine stander or an upright stander.
